Fire Fighters from Seattle Fire Department perform salvage operations
at site of single-family house fire in the Central Area.
At approximately 2200 hrs, SFD responded to reports of a multi-story,
single family residence in the area east of Providence Medical center. Suspected
cause of the blaze was a defective furnace in the basement.
Fire fighters quickly extinguished the blaze and started salvage operations.
SFD's efforts served to minimize damage which could have completely destroyed
the structure. Members of the American Red Cross in Seattle provided assistance
